Pesus 2012 Viña sastre (Ribera del Duero)

Bodegas Hermanos Sastre, SL, became in 1992. That was the time when the Sastre-Gómez family – Father Rafael at the helm and his two sons Pedro and Jesús María at his side after a long winemaking tradition, decided found a small winery where to make the wine obtained from its 42 hectares of own vineyard traditionally cultivated, without the addition of mineral fertilizers, herbicides or insecticides and with the mayor of respect for the land who so personalizes his wines. And embarking on the wine adventure, the family endowed the winery with the most innovative technology, always aiming at the highest quality in their wines.
The grapes to make Pesus come from a selection made in the Valdelayegua, Cañuelo, Carranguix and Bercial payments, located on the slopes of the Duero river at 814 meters of altitude.

TASTING NOTES

This great wine has a beautiful cherry color, with garnet edges.

On the nose it is very powerful and complex, highlighting the maturity of the grape with fruit aromas (prune) and the roasted (roasted coffee, Toffee) of the wood that embraces the wine, it has a mineral background (flint and slate) and spicy tones. (cinnamon, pepper and some vanilla), menthol woods and aromatic herbs (sandalwood and thyme).

The palate is elegant, tasty, very fruity, well-armed in the body with noble tannins and with gentle power, consistent, very expressive with sensations of fresh black fruit and cocoa compote, English chocolate, aromatic herbs, coffee beans, broad and very persistent.
